Join NYC Parks (Jan. 4-13) and the Dept. of Sanitation (Jan. 2-12) in the NYC holiday tradition of recycling your Christmas tree! More than 25,000 trees were recycled last year. Let’s top this number in 2019! There are two ways to participate. For more details, click link to
1) Drop off your tree at an NYC Parks Mulchfest location between January 4-13, 2019. Some locations will be offering free bags of mulch to take home for your garden on January 12-13 from 10 AM-2 PM. Click here to find a Mulchfest location near you.
2) The NYC Dept. of Sanitation will be conducting special curbside collections for mulching and recycling of Christmas trees between January 2-12 , 2019. Click here to visit DSNY’s Special Curbside Collections page.
Transform your holiday tree into wood chips that will be used to make NYC even greener! Please remember to remove all lights, ornaments, and netting before bringing the tree to a Mulchfest site or putting it out for special collection. Please call CB14 at 718-859-6357 with any questions.
