Recycle your Christmas Tree

Posted on: www.cb14brooklyn.com

The New York City Department of Sanitation will collect Christmas trees for mulching Jan. 6 – 17, 2020, weather permitting. Please remove tree stands, tinsel, lights and ornaments before putting trees out for collection. Christmas trees will be chipped, mixed with leaves, and recycled into compost for the city’s parks, institutions and community gardens.  New Yorkers can also drop off Christmas trees for recycling at one of the 67 NYC Parks Mulchfest locations between Dec. 26 – Jan. 11.  For more information on Christmas tree collection and MulchFest, visit www.nyc.gov/dsny, www.nyc.gov/parks or call 311.
