Environmental Assessment Study

A “Remedial Investigation Work Plan,” was submitted to NYSDEC under New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP). An investigation was performed by 1640 Flatbush Owner LLC (“applicant(s)”) with oversight by NYSDEC and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to define the nature and extent of contamination in soil, soil vapor and groundwater on the site and to determine if contamination is entering the site from upgradient sources, and/or leaving the site and potentially impacting off-site receptors. The work plan was reviewed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) to investigate the 1640 Flatbush Avenue site (“site”) located at 1640 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY and an Environmental Assessment Study (EAS) was completed (see links below.) The work plan is available for review at the Community Board 14 District Office.
