Flatbush
Flatbush was one of the first six towns of Brooklyn. Until even the middle of the 19th century it was still mostly farmland. In 1894 it became part of the city of Brooklyn and suburban development boomed. Many of the old Victorian houses still remain. In the 1920’s apartment buildings began sprouting up which attracted many immigrants. This helped make Flatbush one of the most diverse areas in the United States.
