June 2020 Virtual Meetings

Posted on: www.cb14brooklyn.com

We look forward to the day when we can meet together and see you all again in communal safety and good health!  In the meantime, we have planned virtual June meetings that we believe will offer valuable information as well as some virtual together time.  Please view the June virtual meetings calendar below.

Tuesday, June 9th at 5:30 pm
Human Services Committee Meeting:
Census 2020 Update and Next Steps

Remember, responding to Census 2020 is one of the most important tasks on your to do list! It’s quick and easy at my2020census.gov. If you have already responded to the Census, don’t stop there; remind a friend, a neighbor, masked strangers you pass in the street! The resources we need to continue to address health, economic, educational, and social services in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic are dependent on an accurate count.  Kings County was the most undercounted county in the country in 2010. This time around, we must “Make Brooklyn Count 100%”. Click the link below to join us online via Webex on the evening of June 9th for an update on where we are (hint: behind where we should be) and a discussion about how to get to where we need to be (hint: 100% counted)! Wednesday, June 17th at 5:30 pm
Public Safety Committee Meeting:
Town Hall with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office

Community Board 14’s Public Safety Committee is pleased to collaborate with Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzales’ office to bring you this Town Hall.  Hear about various policies and units within the DA’s office.  Representatives will also outline the many critical services and programs concerning public safety, victim services and tips to avoid fraudulent schemes that have surfaced in relation to the pandemic. Brooklyn Community Board 14 Board Meeting

It has been quite a year and in addition to committee reports and public announcements, we plan to wrap up our June Board meeting with some acknowledgements and thanks to some dedicated colleagues and board members. We are welcoming community organizations and agency representatives to make public announcements related to the District at our June meeting on the Webex platform. In order to do so, you must register with the office via email to  info@cb14brooklyn.com no later than noon on Monday, June 22. We will be able to accommodate up to 6 announcements that may not exceed 3 minutes each. Community members and  all other community partners are invited to participate in CB14’s final board meeting before the summer break by joining us on our Youtube channel where the meeting will be live streamed.
