Cooling Centers & Pools Are Open in NYC

Posted on: www.cb14brooklyn.com

As the heat rises, New Yorkers are encouraged to stay cool! Cooling centers are open during periods of high heat. A cooling center is a facility, such as a senior center, community center, or public library, where people may go to enjoy air-conditioned comfort during a heat emergency. To find the nearest location, including hours of operation, call 311 or visit the City’s Cooling Center Finder website. New York City’s outdoor pools re-opened on Saturday, June 26th and will be open through September 12th, every day from 11 AM – 7 PM (closed for cleaning 3-4 PM.) For more information, go to www.nycgovparks.org/facilities/outdoor-pools. Stay hydrated, check on elderly neighbors and relatives, and stay safe! For more heat safety information, please visit www1.nyc.gov/assets/em/html/beat-the-heat/beattheheat.
