Community Budget Recommendations FY 2022
Each year, in accordance with the New York City Charter, all 59 NYC Community Boards are required to submit recommendations for NYC’s capital and expense budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. Community members are invited to participate in the budget process by suggesting a new city service or capital project.
Note, a capital project generally has a value of $35,000 and a “useful life” of at least five years. Requests for ongoing programs and regular city services such as street signs, building inspections, parks maintenance, road repair or tree pruning, for example, should be directed to the Community Board office as a routine service delivery request.
The deadline to submit recommendations for FY 2022 was Friday, September 11, 2020. All submitted recommendations were considered at two Community Board 14 public hearings (September 14, 2020 & November 9, 2020) on community budget recommendations for fiscal year 2022. The budget committee met on October 27, 2020 to discuss and recommend budget submissions. The budget committee meeting and both public hearings are available to view on the Brooklyn Community Board 14 YouTube Channel.
