Community Budget Recommendations FY 2024

Each year, in accordance with the New York City Charter, all 59 NYC Community Boards are required to submit recommendations for NYC’s capital and expense budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. Community members are invited to participate in the budget process by suggesting a new city service or capital project. A capital project generally has a value of $35,000 and a “useful life” of at least five years. Requests for ongoing programs and regular city services such as street signs, building inspections, parks maintenance, road repair or tree pruning, for example, should be directed to the Community Board office as a routine service delivery request. Public Hearing Information: Submitted recommendations will be considered at the second Community Board 14 public hearing on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 6:30 PM via Webex. The first hearing was held on  September 12, 2022 at 6:30 PM via Webex. You can watch the 9/12/22 public hearing here. Community members are encouraged to submit budget recommendations to be considered at the November 14th public hearing by the deadline of Friday, November 11th. Recommendations can be submitted in writing or by speaking at the public hearing. Please read below for instructions about how to submit your budget recommendation(s).

Submit Written Testimony: Please fill out a District Needs Survey to let us know which budget items you feel are most needed in the community and most important to fund in the next fiscal year. Click here to fill out the survey and to provide information about what specific capital and expense items you would like to see funded in the community.

If you prefer, you can also download and/or print a Community Budget Request form (pdf / Word). These forms can be filled out and mailed, faxed or emailed to the CB14 District Office by Friday, November 11, 2022.

Speak at the Public Hearing: You can sign up to speak for up to three minutes about your budget recommendations at the November 14, 2022 public hearing. Please register using this link by Friday, November 11, 2022.
