Neighborhood Leadership Apprenticeships

Posted on:

The Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) trains the next generation of community leaders and increases the capacity of grassroots organizations to win concrete changes for communities. CNL selects a minimum of 10 candidates and places each trainee  in a paid 10-month internship at a community-based non-profit, spending four days per week working at a host site, and one day per week in training for grassroots community engagement and organizing careers. Applications Due March 11, 2016.

Apprentices are paid a total of $17,000 for their ten months of service and receive health insurance, child care reimbursement benefits, and a post service education award of $5,750 (as of 2012-2013). Now in its sixth year, CNL has a 94% success rate in graduating to permanent employment.   Every cycle, ANHD’s Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) also selects a minimum of 10 community institutions to host an apprentice. For more information, visit the program’s website at or call CNL at 212-747-1117. Don’t forget to submit your application by March 11th!
