Storm Safety Tips & Power Outage Information

Con Edison is closely monitoring the rain and windstorms approaching the region and preparing to respond to any electrical service outages or other emergencies that occur. The storms could carry high winds that could knock trees into power lines, transformers and other equipment, causing customers to lose power. To report power interruptions or service problems, as well as view service restoration information, visit www.conEd.com or call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Con Edison Repairs On Glenwood Road

Con Edison has informed us about major repair work that will take place on Glenwood Road between Coney Island Avenue and East 22nd Street in the upcoming weeks.  Con Ed claims that this work is necessary to avoid potential brownouts and power failures in the future.

Ms. Doris Ortiz
Brooklyn Community Board 14
810 East 16th Street
Brooklyn, NY 11230

Dear Ms. Ortiz,

Please be advised that CON EDISON will be digging from E 22 St to Coney Island Ave on Glenwood Rd. The extensive work is necessary to upgrade the underground electric system. Additionally we will be digging 2 trenches on either side of the train tracks on Glenwood Rd. from Rugby Rd. to East 17th St.

This extensive drilling under the tracks will improve the reliability of the system by extending feeder ducts from E 22 St to Coney Island Avenue on Glenwood Rd. This work will continue during the days into January 2010.

We apologize for any inconvenience and sincerely appreciate your assistance and cooperation.

For further information, residents may contact 1-800-75-CON-ED. Thank you.
