NYC Storm Recovery Resources

Was your home damaged by flooding? Click here for advice from NYC Buildings on how to address conditions caused by flooding including damaged electrical and heating equipment, as well as advice on hiring construction professionals. The Department of Buildings has waived all fees for permits and other services related to Tropical Storm Ida damage repairs. Call 311 to schedule an inspection. Citywide Campaign on Dangers of Illegal Conversions

As of November 16th, the Department of Buildings has teamed up with the FDNY to launch a citywide campaign educating New Yorkers about the dangers of illegal conversions and how to stay safe. Inspectors and volunteers are distributing more than 60,000 flyers in all five boroughs.  This link will allow you to access the literature, currently available in 11 languages.
