Foster Avenue Lane Closure

Important Notice – Lane Closure & Traffic Shift
Foster Avenue Bridge over B/Q Subway line
E.16th Street to Marlborough Road
February 25 – March 25 2012,  7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Beginning the weekend of Saturday, February 25th & Sunday, February 26th, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the New York City Department of Transportation Division of Bridges will close one lane of the Foster Avenue Bridge over the NYC Transit BMT Line between E.16th Street and Marlborough Road for structural steel repairs to the underside of the bridge.

Two-way traffic will be maintained by converting traffic lanes on the westbound side of the bridge to two-way operation. A general track outage on the B & Q subway line is required for work crew access to the area below the bridge but will only be in effect on weekends when work is underway. For subway service impacts on the B and Q lines please call 718/330-1234 or visit This work is scheduled for
completion before the end of March 2012, however this work is weather sensitive and inclement weather will delay the completion.
