Church Avenue Transit and Traffic Improvement Plan

Managing Agency: NYC Department of Transportation Transit Development
Project Description: Addition of Bus Lanes, relocation of parking, loading zones on Church Avenue
Expected Project Start Date: October 2019

The New York City Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Transit Development division presented a proposal to the Community Board 14 Transportation Committee on May 30, 2019. The plan proposed several traffic changes for the stretch of Church Avenue between Flatbush Avenue to Ocean Parkway including the addition of a dedicated B35 bus lane and the relocation of metered parking and commercial loading zones. The project is the first step in the Mayor’s  newly announced Better Buses Action Plan which is designed to improve transit options and reduce traffic problems on key corridors throughout the City.
