Flatbush Rezoning Process Update

The Flatbush rezoning proposal began formal public review on March 2, 2009 with the Department of City Planning’s Certification of the Uniform Land Use Review (ULURP) application (C 090336 ZMK and N 090335 ZRK).
Brooklyn Community Board 14 held its public hearing on Thursday, April 2, 2009, and the consensus of the members was to recommend that the rezoning plan be approved as submitted. On Monday, April 20, 2009, the Board adopted the recommendation and approved of the rezoning plan.
Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz held a public hearing on the proposal on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Brooklyn Borough Hall. The next step in the process is for the City Planning Commission to conduct a public hearing on the plan on June 3, 2009.
