CORTELYOU ROAD GREENMARKET EXPANSION

The Council on the Environment, Inc. has submitted a request to Brooklyn Community Board 14 to expand the parameters of the street activity permit issued for the Cortelyou Road Greenmarket.  Currently, the permit has been approved for Sundays from 8 AM to 6 PM on Cortelyou Road between Argyle Road and Rugby Road, utilizing the parking lane and up to 10 feet of the sidewalk.  The request seeks to extend the permit an additional 100 feet into Rugby Road starting in 2011.

The administration of Edward R. Murrow High School has requested community support for co-naming

East 17^th Street between Avenue L and Avenue M “Saul Bruckner Way” in honor of the late Saul Bruckner, the school’s founding principal. For thirty years, Mr. Bruckner was the principal of Edward R. Murrow High School, one of the premier high schools in New York City. The school was designated a “School of Excellence” by the United States Department of Education.
