An application for Special Permit has been filed with the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA),pursuant to Zoning Resolution of the City of New York §73-622, to enlarge a single or two-family detached or semi-detachedresidence within the designated R2 district bounded by Avenue I, Nostrand Avenue, Kings Highway, Avenue O and OceanAvenue in Community Board 14 in the Borough of Brooklyn. Hearing #2 – MODIFICATION:

A request to modify an application has been filed with the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA). Nochanges to the plan that was initially presented to Community Board 14 at a Public Hearing on September 7, 2011 are being proposed. However, it has since been discovered that the outline of the existing building does not match the current or thehistorical Sanborn maps, therefore the application is being modified to include legalization of the portion of the property notshown on the Sanborn maps. The agency will provide housing, meals, recreation, companionship and continuous 24/7 supervision in a homelike environment staffed by professionals.

The proposed apartment a.k.a. Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) for up to two individuals with developmental disabilities will be adjacent to one of three IRAs already existing at this address. The agency will provide recreational activities and programs planned for evenings and weekends. Each person living in the residence will attend day work program weekdays. There will be supervisory and residential staff on duty at all times when consumers are at home.
