POTENTIAL COMMUNITY RESIDENCE: In compliance with Section 41:34 of the New York State Mental Hygiene Law, HeartShare Human Services of New York and the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) have submitted an application for a Potential Community Residence to be located at 83 East 18th Street, Apts. 1A, 2A, 2B, between Church Avenue and Tennis Court within Community District 14.

These apartments aka Individualized Residential Alternatives will be home to eleven (11) adult females, with developmental disabilities. These individuals are people from the local community who are in need of a new home. Each person living in the residence will attend six hours of program at a sheltered workshop or a day habilitation program each weekday. There will be supervisory and residential staff on duty 24 hours a day at the residence with recreational activities and programs planned for evenings and weekends. The New York State OPWDD will license this residential program as a Community Residence for the Developmentally Disabled.

CB14 Nonprofit Roundtable

Representatives from nonprofit organizations working in Brooklyn Community District 14 are invited to attend a Nonprofit Roundtable at the CB14 District Office to share and discuss district programs and services, as well as recent successes and challenges. This event provides an opportunity to get to know representatives from our diverse nonprofit community, various city agencies & elected officials offices and to share where your organizations might be able to support one another either through collaboration or referrals or resource sharing or simply camaraderie.
