VARIANCE:
A Variance application has been filed with the Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) pursuant to §72-21 of the Zoning Resolution of the City of New York to permit a Use Group 6 commercial use in the entire building at the premises. Sixty-two percent (62%) of the premises lies within an R5B zoning district where UG6 uses are not permitted as-of-right; the remaining thirty-eight (38%) percent of the premises lies within a C4-4A zoning district. Since less than half of the parcel is situated within the desired zoning district (i.e. C4-4A), a variance to permit a Use Group 6 uses in the entire building is being sought.

Help Plan The City’s Waterfront!
Wednesday, April 28th, 2010The Department of City Planning (DCP) is currently preparing Vision 2020: The NYC Comprehensive Waterfront Plan, and they want your help. This plan will establish the city’s long range vision for a 21st Century waterfront, identifying opportunities for improvement and the strategies needed to realize this new vision.
DCP is holding workshops in every borough to get input on the plan. Please come to the upcoming workshop in Brooklyn.
MAY 17, 2010
6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
BROOKLYN TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
Address is 29 Fort Greene Place. Use Entrance at Dekalb Ave.
& S. Elliot Pl.* Event starts in Main Auditorium.
What is the Comprehensive Waterfront Plan?
The City’s Comprehensive Waterfront Plan is a framework for the citywide reclamation of the waterfront, guiding land use decisions along New York City’s shoreline. Recommendations for Vision 2020 are expected in the Fall, and a full report to be presented to the City Council and the public by end of 2010.
What is the purpose of these workshops?
We want to hear your suggestions for how to improve your waterfront. At the workshops, the Department will start with a short presentation of the findings of our assessment of resources of Brooklyn’s waterfront- what public access exists today, where there are industrial activities, the natural areas, etc. We’ll then break into small groups to discuss particular segments of the Borough’s waterfront, what we refer to as Reaches. In these small group discussions, we want to hear from you and hear your suggestions for how you envision improving the waterfront.
