7:30PM – PUBLIC HEARING – CHURCH AVENUE BID REQUEST FOR FUNDING:
The Church Avenue Business Improvement District has requested community support of their application for funding to the New York State Division of Housing & Community Renewal for the New York Main Street grant program. The New York Main Street grant program provides financial resources and technical assistance to
communities to strengthen the economic vitality of the State’s traditional Main Streets and neighborhoods. The program provides funds to units of local government, business improvement districts and other non-for-profit
organizations. The Church Avenue BID’s Main Street program called “Restore Church Avenue”, would fund improvements to buildings exteriors (repointing, refacing, new windows, etc.), improvements to storefronts (signage, awnings, gates, exterior lighting, etc.) and possibly interior renovations.
If you would like to testify at any of these public hearings, you should pre-register for speaking time by calling the Board office at 718-859-6357. You may, in addition, register to speak at the hearing on April 7th.

2010 Census
Wednesday, March 10th, 2010|
The United States Constitution requires that the number of people living in the United States be counted every 10 years. People of all ages, races, ethnic groups, citizens and non-citizens alike, regardless of legal status, are to be counted in the next census in 2010. The United States Department of Commerce’s Census Bureau is responsible for the count.
Why Participate?
We are the largest and most diverse city in the nation. A successful census in New York City will only happen if everyone in every community across the City participates and is counted. |
